Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk and Camp Event Raises Morale And Money

William E. Schuiling, the CEO of Brown Automotive Group, has sold vehicles to motorists in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, for more than 40 years. With a reputation for consistent and generous philanthropy, William Schuiling donated $12,000 to Susan G. Komen, the breast cancer organization, through the dealership he owns.

Susan G. Komen has a special fundraising and mutual support event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. It’s a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Events are held each year in multiple major cities sometime from August to November. An experienced crew stays with walkers on the route to keep them safe and comfortable and provide moral support. Nights are spent camping together in the 3-Day community.

In order to reach the ambitious Susan G. Komen goal of reducing breast cancer deaths by 50 percent over the next decade, participants are asked to raise $2,300 each through recruiting donations and sponsorships. The 3-Day fundraising walk is an excellent way to contribute to the fight against breast cancer and find support from others who have been affected by breast cancer.
